i think whatever Github suggests should work, in terms of adding special tags to your PR description to link up issues and things like that
you can read their docs
h
okay - thanks. I'm used to how it works in there
So I'd create branches from GitHub instead of using
gt create
?
d
that's not necessary, we sit on top of github PRs already
when you make a branch with graphite, and submit it, we create a PR on github
so it's a PR, same as before, and integrations like you describe should still 100% work
h
If I don't create the branch from the GitHub issue, the PR isn't automatically linked and won't close the issue automatically when the PR is merged
Oh, I could manually link the branch to the issue
h
It would be useful to make the link when creating the branch, rather than when creating the PR
Maybe this should be a feature request, to create a branch using Graphite that is based on a GH issue
d
it is a feature request yeah
unfortunately github's issue linking is not as nice as linear's, where you can put the ticket id in the branch name
h
yeah, that's a pain
