Related - am I missing something: How can I open the github PR from the graphite PR viewer? It was way harder than needed to get to Github to confirm the behavior I was hoping graphite would reproduce so that I could submit this request

Hey there! You can get to GitHub by clicking the
...
menu and clicking Copy link to GitHub!
You can also use the command shortcut
L
+
G
to copy the link

Or you can use my user script, that the Graphite folks of course do not promote, as they want to make you use Graphite exclusively. :-D Have a look at https://graphite-community.slack.com/archives/C02ENKC0A9X/p1692099162254899?thread_ts=1685649687.426459&cid=C02ENKC0A9X :-)

thanks all. FWIW, I expected
airbyte #29231
to link directly to the PR here
I guess addressing that feedback depends on if you are prioritizing ease of use/intuitive UX, or keeping people exclusively on the platform 🙂
(but it's IMO very confusing and is going to be one of the first thing a new user is going to try to do, in order to compare what they like/don't like about the new platform they're trying out)
v
That's why I wrote that nice little user script. :-)
e
agreed, but you've got to stick with it long enough to get into slack to find a hack for it 😄
v
Yes, I totally agree, unfortunately the Graphite guys do not. I also tried to make them make it easier, but failed. And as I didn't like the copy link shortcut then opening it in a new tab, I wrote that userscript. 🙂

Thanks both for all the feedback, it's extremely appreciated Rest-assured we're talking about this a TON internally and wanting to take next steps on this very soon - the last thing we want to do is make your workflow confusing/clunky. I'll put up an update as soon as we come up with a solution here!

Here are some solutions -- @Vampire feel free to add yours!
v
Feel free to add mine 🙂

I would +1 a less-clicks/copy-pasting way to get back to github. Thanks all for your external solution tips
