Is there a way to specify another branch to use as trunk without overwriting the one set in
gt repo init

Currently we only support a single trunk per checkout — it's something we're looking at addressing in the future (this fall or later based on current plans)
fwiw, if you change trunks back and forth, we do preserve the metadata, so your branches tracked with one trunk should still be tracked if you switch to another trunk and back (unless you track them while you have your second trunk selected) — obviously this isn't super-great support but it might help you here

Is there a way to switch trunks other than
gt repo init
?
j
That's the only way, but that's all it changes —
gt repo init --trunk
will skip the interactivity

I also came here looking exactly for this. Perhaps it should be made more visible in the CLI docs? I was looking in
gt branch
, but it wasn’t there.
