currently
gt downstack get d
is the way to grab it! it's definitely a little rough around the edges right now and we're working on making it smoother (i.e. thinking about how to better integrate into
repo sync
so it feels more automagical)
j
kk let me try that! and i'm on
c
when i execute that command, or does it matter?
j
it shouldn't matter
j
hmm
ERROR: Received invalid dependency response
j
Are some of the downstack branches already merged? I've seen this happen in that case sometimes
j
No but a couple of the upstack branches are drafts?
j
Hmm, I'm not exactly sure what could be causing this to be honest — this is part of the "rough around the edges" that I mentioned unfortuntely. Using
git pull
and
branch track
or
downstack track
as mentioned on this page (https://graphite.dev/docs/collaborating-on-a-stack) may be the best workaround I can think of, but it definitely won't feel like a first class experience
Sorry about that, I do think that most of the time
gt downstack get
should work in simple cases like this, even with drafts
j
right on so just do the pull and then manually set tracking, and things should be OK after that?
j
yeah!
j
cool thank you!
a
what is
gt downstack get d
supposed to do? Dont know what the last
d
is for
j
D is the branch name in Jared's example 😅
a
oh got it
thats the branch that's on remote
👍 1
thanks
j
@Jacob Gold something is really funky here
so I'm now in a state where I managed to do the
downstack get
and all of the branches were fetched/overwritten, and that looked successful - i wound up on branch
d
in my example
but then if I do
gt branch down
, it says I'm on an untracked branch
