Which behavior do you prefer?

Personally, I prefer the optout (autoredirect + disable the plugin/no-redirect query string) to the opt-in, but I’ll survive if thats not reasonable

Reasonable! In the limit we'd like to make this configurable, especially if we have the time to add more functionality to the extension, but as long as it's super simple, we wanted to keep it less heavy handed
