To respond in a thread, the current flow is paste your comment > "respond in thread" > finish review > "just add comments", which sounds like what you've been doing. If you want to leave one-off comments (with less keystrokes maybe) you can add timeline comments under the "timeline" tab on the RHS panel!

You can also type the reply, and then use the

Command-J

shortcut to submit the reply without opening the

finish review

Ah! So command + j will add a single reply to the thread, and allow me to not go through the rigmarole of the review cycle? Cool. Thanks for the help, guys

Cmd-J is gonna get more use on my keyboard (assuming I don’t forget the shortcut in a day)!

I would also say a button to do that would be really nice 😅 I tend to review with single comments in general
