This doesn’t solve your specific question, but I solved it by setting up an alias. (Actually, I use fish shell and did

abbr ss gt ss -np

, which is magical… now I type

ss

and it expands when I press space. Then I can delete the

-np

if I wish.

I'd also be interested in this in general, accumulating more flags I have to memorize on various commands
