I just squashed everything into one commit and merged it and closed the PRs

I tried to merge the whole stack at once, but it looks like it only merged together the branches above the point where I folded the three branches. Maybe it stopped at that point because they were considered “merged” and it treated this like it had reached the trunk?

hmm, potentially. i need to test this case but i believe that this could have been the thing that messed you up. and I do think that we can change

to better handle returning branches to the state you have locally, it's something we currently don't have a great way to do. glad you were able to find a workaruond
