We use your GitHub primary email by default, so it'll be whatever that is!
j
Oh perfect! Thank you 🙂
Hey @Jacob Gold, I invited my of my colleagues but they don't seem to be getting the email. What's the best way to debug this?
j
they should be able to go directly to app.graphite.dev to sign up!
j
Thanks Jacob! They said they managed to sign up but can't seem to get access to the repository. They're already part of my team's github organization, however, when they try to sync repos they can only see their personal ones and not the team repo.
m
did they allow access to the organization when signing in/up?
j
Which authentication method are they using? https://app.graphite.dev/settings/github-access
j

I have the organization enabled (and they're part of it). When they tries to enabled it, it asked to install the graphite app. Is there something I need to approve on my end?
I just asked them, here's a screenshot of their github access
and if they click configure it looks like this:
Specifically, pocket-team is what they need access to but it says it's pending
j
Ah, I see -- try having them change their auth method from OAuth to GitHub app at the bottom of the github access page?
j
Okay i'll ask them 😄
We tried the OAuth method and they couldn't add it since they weren't an admin for the organization (they only had write access). I just made them an admin and it was all good. Is there a way to give them access without being an admin? Not a big deal right now though!
j
either GitHub app or OAuth should work without folks needing to be admins — what didn't work?
j
They seemed to not be able to approve the github app (see the image above: https://graphite-community.slack.com/archives/C02ENKC0A9X/p1682115628590769?thread_ts=1681940334.380299&cid=C02ENKC0A9X) It was continually waiting for approval. I just made everyone admins for the time being and that worked
j
Once an admin approves the app on behalf on an org, no one else should need to approve it -- very weird! Is this still happening for new folks who attempt to auth via GH app?
