Ok this is super helpful, i'll look into this for you!

So turns out that this has to do with mac settings - if you have the option to `show file extensions` off in your system settings, when dragging the image into the description it won't recognize the file type and thus won't render the image

We're working on a fix but in the mean time, this should solve your issue!
