Object Computing, Grails Foundation, and some of the development team building Grails 7 have been collaborating on the migration planning and that has gone very well. Everyone's help has been very much appreciated. Thank you! We have been developing the required software grant which is in the later stages of preparation and may be ready for submission to Apache very soon. The future remains bright for the Grails framework, close to 20 years after its inception. Happy Thursday!

Wikipedia says, "Work began in July 2005", is there an official birthday?
j
We have been using Feb 5, 2008 as the birthday but that is when 1.0 was released. The project is older than that.

Moving Grails to ASF would be a win overall. Good to see the effort. On my end, would love to see the reverse-engineering plugin for SQL DBs or an alternative working in Grails 7 to open more Grails apps quickly

@Jim Mason I created a 5.0.x branch and did a little bit of cleanup. It still needs a good bit of work to update it for Grails 7 and Gorm 9. I'm short on time this week, but may be able to look at it more next week. The current state is quite old so it will follow a slightly different path then the Grails 5/6 to 7 plugin upgrades. https://github.com/grails-plugins/grails-db-reverse-engineer
