So the upgrade from 3.3.10 -> 4.0.0 was a lot less painful then I thought (thanks @joem86 for the suggestion - the shiro plugin supports 4) and it’s certainly booting significantly faster although lack of hot reloads is going to slow dev a bit. One of the major reasons for upgrading was to have the react-webpack profile and I’ve just seen that it’s been dropped for G4 because of Node gradle plugin not being compatible (https://github.com/grails-profiles/webpack/issues/4) . What are folks who were using that profile in G3 doing in G4 as a work around? We only have parts of our app in react.
