We are trying to migrate to latest tomcat and java for latest grails 2 (2.5.6 as i remember) in general goal move to latest grails in general but current code base based on grails flow plugin that does not support in g 3+ so we are looking for opportunity to manage it. @jeffscottbrown

Grails 2 is in maintenance mode. In general we aren’t making changes there unless there are security concerns or special circumstances for support customers. That doesn’t mean that we can’t update the plugin, but it is for a line of the technology that has pretty much stopped moving forward. @graeme @james.kleeh What do you guys think about this one?
j
Given the last release was 2 years ago the amount of effort required to release a new version is better used elsewhere
j
I tend to agree.

Seem you already did update to 9 tomcat. As i see it can be quickly update based on pull request ans seems some groups of users will be very thankful :)
j
Is there some specific reason that you want that you want a newer version of Tomcat?
j
I would recommend forking it and releasing it under your own namespace
s
We have the same on prod. So do not want to catch some crazy issue due to dev on diff version @jeffscottbrown
After quick googling i did not find good way to make plugin from sources. @james.kleeh maybe some sort of doc you could share?
