While it's harder to find jobs that specifically use Grails, I would say that if they keep up with updates, those places can be easier to work with, and usually more progressive with technology, in general. Spring has just enjoyed a longer history, and has a lot of Java developers, that use it. Although I do see Micronaut, as viable competition, for some of the core of what Spring does.
