Not sure what you mean. I have a config for Grails, which applies the same extension as GrailsCompileStatic.

This code fails with GrailsCompileStatic

@GrailsCompileStatic
    def hello(){
        flash.message = message(code: 'hello')
        render view: '/sentence/list'
    }

I would say that's a bug that you should raise against Grails then. Although they may suggest the workaround of using the MessageSource bean.
