With Java 25 only a few short months away what are the odds we will see an 8.14.3 release with JDK25 support?

for running Gradle itself, at a minimum that needs to wait for Groovy and Kotlin support

<@UKBCL7QF6> unless something changes, it is in the scope for Gradle 9.1 in August or September. I doubt this change would be a subject for backporting, unless there are serious stability issues that require delaying Gradle 9
