But it's quite sad that all issues related to r8/proguard integratiolikens are closed as not planned. It looks as a very natural extension of shadow capabilities, existing minimize is very limited

I already mentioned it before in the dicussion, maybe even making it possible to write custom plugin for minification which plugs-in into shadow process would be better idea, so we may have proguard/r8/current minimize or even DexGuard, which anyway cannot be included by default, as different implementations if possible
