You want a <https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/part1_gradle_init.html#step_6_understanding_the_settings_file|settings.gradle[.kts]> file, which is either groovy or kotlin, not json. And a database config has nothing at all to do with gradle, so you seem to be on completely the wrong track there.
