Hello! I’m an android developer at adidas and back in July we were at droidcon Berlin where we showed up at Gradle stand the last day/hour There I showed up with a

gradle --scan

where we show in detail how much time it takes for us to do a first build run (30 min around) (I know this could be partially solved with remote cache) and when we do some local change, it takes around 1 to 8 minutes to do a build depending on the place that we’ve made the local change We have different gradle properties enabled like the most important

gradle cache

and different ones I was told to join gradle slack to get some help by Gradle engineers, so I’d love to have a chat with someone who can throw a bit of light on where we should look to start analysing what’s going on (I can share the

gradle --scan

privately with you) I’m a Gradle beginner but I’m slowly learning how it works, still a long way to go so any help is really appreciated!! Thank you 😄

I'm stuck trying to work with a Maven dependency from a Gradle project, and haven't been able to find any resources on what is missing. The dependency is in Maven Central, and I've added the dependency to my build.gradle.kts file. The project compiles with this fine (and it does seem to actually find the dependency). But I'm unable to import any of the modules in my code. Is there some step I'm missing?

I’m trying to solve a configurations riddle. I have a bucket configuration and want to create a resolvable configuration that resolves to the sources of the transitive dependency graph of that bucket. I was hoping that I could write a

ComponentMetadataRule

that created a variant that combined the files from the

sourcesElements

variant with the dependencies from the

runtimeElements

variant, but I cannot find a way to merge the pieces of two existing variants in this way. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Hello. Every time when Gradle build fail on TeamCity server, it generate two exception, one is real reason why it failed and second is always

StackOverflowError

I would tell that not. It is very annoying because it hide the real reason, you need to scroll in the log and found the real one. It looks that it happen after recent update 7.5.1 or already in 7.5 it was not happening before 7.5
