Any pointers on how to get Right Capital plan success probability up?
Lol. Retire at 80 laugh cry
m
I love this question. 1. More income (Tiering up future raises) 2. Lower expenses 3. Lower goals (simchas, etc.) 4. Including expected inheritances 5. Simulating moving to a cheaper community 6. Changing investment allocation 7. Changing glide path 8. Lower retirement age 9. Lower expected life expectancy 10. Tax optimization 11. Increase monthly savings 12. Custom retirement spending rules
s
Can you please explain Glide path? Is that referring to shifting allocation to be more bond heavy approaching retirement?
Also, I'm having trouble seeing where to create a "proposed plan"
m
you can edit your proposed plan under action items in the retrement > analysis tab
yes your definition of glide path is correct
s
Ok, ty. Annoying that it doesn't show you what tweaks make the biggest impact, and that it won't auto refresh, but still workable with guess work.

yes this is the top feature on my roadmap i want to build to augment right capital, a simple optimization algorithm to find the global (or local) maximums. if you want to help , let me know
it would be the same algortihm, just instead of only changing life insurance leveers it will change all the other levers
s
that's cool. I actually have a little bit of optimization experience. I can't access the GH issue for some reason, though
m
its because you aren't part of the github org, if you plan to contribute i'm happy to buy you a license
s
Got it. hard to tell how much time I'll have to contribute so not sure it's worth it to buy me a license.
It's not a simple problem, which kind of explains why they haven't implemented it themselves, lol
m
correct 🙂

just the objective function is a behemoth

Biggest impact is usually working longer and/or spending less.
