Super classic but it depends. Is $150k enough to satisfy my financial obligations? Do I have a good remote setup in my home? Etc etc etc. I'm voting as if the situation is absolutely ideal but often it isn't!

Yes. Yes. Assuming ideal.

In "The psychology of money" he emphasizes the importance of money buying you your time back and not the other way around Remote work is the perfect example, it's not just about the commute, I can do more on my lunch break if I am home and it's easier for my work life balance if I don't have to push off every single chore for after 6, for example, on Thursdays I use my lunch break to cook cholent and Fridays is for making the shabbat dips
I voted remote but with an asterisk, only right now when my expenses are still relatively low, I would probably change my answer when the extra money becomes essential

The hours are the same? I.e., the commute is in addition?
m
Yeah

verrry much depends on my spouses situation. Are they flexible? (IMO it is essential for every family to have at least parent with a semi-flexible schedule) Who is doing carpool? Making dinner? Will the extra money just go to tuition or will be enough to pay for quality of life enhancements?

Well 150k a year comes out to 40000 shekels a month which is considered an excellent salary where I'm from. So I'm not sure if it's even fair for me to vote
e
@great-appointment-99249 after taxes you're left with 20-30k shekel per month, don't forget.

oh yeah, good point 🤦

Gonna have to go higher than a 30 minute commute for it to even be a question for me 🙂 I live a few miles from my office and its still a 15-20 minute commute each way. And $100k difference is a lot.

@mysterious-tomato-10057 Any way to rephrase the question? numbers mean different things to different people

I used to commute by bicycle for 40 minutes, it was awesome. Then I had a 25 minute walk, not bad either. But before that I had to take the subway into Manhattan, with nearly weekly outages. That wasn't fun at all. So, as it is with everything, it depends... Still, as a Brooklynite, settling for 150k seems crazy.
