I'm trying to figure out how to use YNAB and have planned my December expenses, but is there a way to enter my expected December income to make sure it matches up with the expenses? Or am I supposed to use leftover November income for December?
m
The goal of YNAB is to get you only spending money that you have, not money that you will have. So you would want to try and fix your mindset to be around using the leftover november money for early decemember expenses until your first december check comes in.
It is a pretty big mindset shift but once you are on board it works wonders

I feel it would be great linkedIn post: "I used to always budget for money I didn't have and would always come up short. Now I only budget for the money I have and it has completely changed the way I think about money. I never spend more than I have anymore because I didn't budget for it. I'll do it now! Thanks!

@numerous-pager-5334 can you make this thread into a LinkedIn post for me
h
Absolutely, here's a draft for your LinkedIn post: --- 🔑 Switching Mindsets: A Key to Financial Stability 🔑 I've recently had a major shift in my approach to budgeting, thanks to YNAB (You Need A Budget). I used to budget for money I didn't yet have, which often led to coming up short and feeling financial stress. But YNAB introduced me to a new concept: budgeting only for the money I already have. This simple shift has completely transformed my financial perspective. I no longer spend more than I have because I simply don't budget for it. This approach has made me realize the importance of living within my means and planning my expenses based on my actual income. It's a game-changer and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to gain control over their finances. Stay tuned for more financial tips and insights. Wow this is pretty powerful. I kind of meant it as a joke but I'm happy it worked out in the end lol
@mysterious-tomato-10057 you still had to create the LinkedIn post yourself, right? It didn't do it for you?
m
