Is there anything we as the frum financial independence community can be doing for Israel? I'd love ideas.

In what regard? Physically/spiritually?

First angle I can think of is something on the end of once this is over (or even during) what's the economic impact to families and institutions and how can that be helped? (I can't imagine a way to help with direct outcomes except spiritual avenues)

They are severely lacking a lot of basics, from what I heard. Helping financially may be one way.

I’m referring to much more direct than buying bonds. Sending $ and supplies direct.

Doing some research on the tax deductibility of donations to foreign entities. Typically political donations are not tax deductible, but what about organizations that are structured abroad? What about organizations that are structured here but assist entities that are abroad? Is existing in the 501c3 registry the only way?

i have only been able to get tax deductions from donating to israel when they have an american 501c3 number

Similar to bonds, there is an israel ETF - Code EIS. However I think direct donations are much more useful at this time.

Would a list of valid places to donate money to (both deductible and non deductible) be something the community can take on? I imagine there are going to be scam fundraisers popping up at some point

There's going to be GoFundMe/charity/etc for victims and families. People will want to donate - but how to know if they're legit? I wouldn't want to take on the responsibility but verify-charity-as-a-service could be something that would be helpful for people whose hearts are broken by the stories and want to help those people directly

I'd guess that most people here at Frum Finance support an organization like FIDF, but I'd like to point out that depending on where you're sharing these organizations to donate to, sometimes limiting the list to strictly humanitarian organizations may be better received Unfortunately that's the world we live in
