My top VSCode extensions for working with Evidence 1. SQLTools is an extension for exploring your database and running queries from VSCode 2. GitHub Copilot and Copilot Chat as a code writing partner. It's surprisingly good at Evidence's Syntax 3. Excel Viewer for viewing CSVs and excel files 4. Github pull requests and issues so you don't have to jump into GitHub all the time 5. GitLens helps you see commit history and git blames without leaving VSCode

Oh i haven’t tried Excel Viewer, but I do love Rainbow CSV. I also use the Excel Theme ironically but now it just feels natural (oops).

If you are on windows, the WSL stuff is great and especially the Remote Development extension, so you can spin up a codespace (or SSH, container, or WSL) and then operate on it in the comfort your own speedy desktop.

The Excalidraw plugin for VS Code is now my go to for systems designs, the files a JSON based so it's suited for version control.

I use quite often AI for coding as I myself am very new to this, so my list is heavy on it. I'm jumping between them all the time as they evolve, improve or get worse, so it's a constant try & see approach: 1. Cursor IDE (VSCodium based with GPT-3.5 & GPT-4 baked in) 2. phind.com - for AI Pair Programming (ChatGPTwith access to internet and focused on coding) 3. https://codeium.com/ - A VSCode AI Coding Chat extension (Similar to Github Copilot but free) 4. poe.com - for access to different Generative AI APIs 5. ChatHub Chrome Extension for viewing answers from multiple AIs in one window 6. Perplexity AI - for general Generative AI help. Coding and other topics. 7. DBeaver - SQL GUI for Duckdb and others 8. TAD - parquet viewer with GUI - (slow to launch and a bit cumbersome, but I don't know of any other GUI based parquet viewer on MAC OS)

I personally love prettier and eslint to maintain code consistency and readability. Probably a good time to plug: https://github.com/evidence-dev/evidence-vscode/issues/76
