I think he is legitimate, and he has a legitimate point. We should have given back that account. There is a significant subsegment of the community that thinks so. But, probably a minority, if it came to a vote. So, what then is the path forward? I don't see any, and conversation just for the sake of conversation that will divide the community strikes me as counter-productive. And bringing this nonsense into the dev channel with a proposed strike was definitely asking for some confrontation.

Epic flouncing is a bit weak though. Hope he reconsiders.

Defending his position is one way but forcing other people to think the same is another. And deleting his account afterwords… i dont know about that. He wasn’t interested in an argument. Literally said not even gonna listen to the audios. Those contained the best argument so far.

So it was really my way or the high way, all while derailing productive conversations here.

I'll cop to the bit on bullying, but I would justify it on the fact that I used the same tactic. Gaslighting, be definition, is saying someone's lived experience doesn't match reality, when I was really just busting his hump and he didn't like it.

Oh, he's not Bob. Someone who has a strong moral compass and a bit of idealism. It's hard when that bumps up against the reality that we are all messed up human beings that can be petty and not do the right thing for a variety of reasons.

It doesn't solve the ETC debate for the people that believe it should be given back. If you give it back, then there is now the argument that you would be helping a scam coin, which would have been a good argument to make back when this was done.
