it's not a good faith situation when the resolution is attacking someone that doesn't agree with your position

And as for moral or ethical reason, it’s Twitter, who cares. If the situation was reversed I would be questioning why they didn’t have control of the account in the first place

Also the backlash from the ETC community is underwhelming. Like there isn’t much of them, and the ones there are are probably not on Twitter

Well, here I disagree. The whole way this was handled, start to finish, is why we are continuing to have this discussion. EF never really explained. They made the decision with zero community involvement and it suggest they might do the same later, which reflects badly on everyone involved, no matter how smoothly Armeanio tries to frame it.

On that aspect anon1111 is exactly right.

But, we don't live in a perfect world. So, the questions it raises are: 1) how do we prevent that kind of choice in the future? The honest answer is we can't.

Twitter requires username and password, which means you have to trust someone.

And the damage is done. The bad decision is made. I don't really give q flip about ETC or their feelings, but I do wonder about the EF now.
