A few cardano devs have said this would be a great feature to add to ergo, I know Ilya did an EIP awhile back but I think ran into some issues

what would the use case be?

Have you ever considered implementing burning of part of fees as on eth or polygon. Was that the assumption?

But probably not a good idea since that means the supply will only shrink over time

Imho, burning token / deflationary is over rated.

In a non fixed supply ecosystem it sorta makes sense

some days inflation some days deflation

sure, but can't unlock them if you send them to an address that has a sigmaprop that always return false (see ergo docs)

but yes, they are not burned :)
