Hello. I am running edr report on 0.12 -> I got few tests in
elementary_test_results
-> but when I run edr report, it doesn't pick up those tests -> it picks up tests that are present in
dbt_tests
-> why is that so? I Thought the report is built off of
elementary_test_results?
d
Hey @gloerikx, elementary_test_results contains actual results of running the tests definitions from dbt_tests.
g
hi @Daniel Pollak -> do you know how can I enforce so that elementary
edr-report
uses
elementary_test_results
? instead of
dbt_tests
d
It does use elementary_test_results, for displaying the tests results (the tab)
g
I have 5 records in the
elementary_test_results
and single record in
dbt_tests
and it only showcases that single record on the test results - the tab
d
Can you share the 5 records in elementary_test_results ?
g
So if I understood correctly -> dbt_tests only contain latest records while elementary_test_results contains also historical runs -> and for example:
models:
  - name: my_table
    tests:
    columns:
      - name: col1
        tests:
          - not_null
      - name: col2
        tests:
          - not_null
If I run this -> I get 2 tests for this table. If I remove one of the tests (ie. check for
col2
) -> then even tho elementary_test_results contains both tests (because it contains historical) -> because only 1 test is now being run -> the dbt_tests only contains single record now and if I kick of
edr-report
it's only gonna show the test for
col1
d
correct. 🙂
