I have a question/issue, when attempting to post my great expectations results to my local instance of datahub, I get this error:
Datasource mssql_datasource is not present in platform_instance_map
('Unable to emit metadata to DataHub GMS', {'message': '401 Client Error: Unauthorized for url: <http://localhost:9002/openapi/entities/v1/aspects?action=ingestProposal'}>)
Any idea on what is going on? I’m a bit lost

Have you enabled metadata authentication in GMS? And how are you trying to ingest- UI, or via recipe
l
I don’t believe I have, I followed the https://datahubproject.io/docs/quickstart/ guide and then followed this guide to send the data: https://docs.greatexpectations.io/docs/integrations/integration_datahub But I’m not using the “BigQuery” because I’m not sure what it is
And I run the application with python3
https://datahubproject.io/docs/metadata-ingestion/integration_docs/great-expectations This is the integration I’m trying to set up with MS Sql
I modified the url to not include the /entities/vi since it appears aspects is an endpoint of its own, but it’s not shown in the swagger ui:
Datasource mssql_datasource is not present in platform_instance_map
('Unable to emit metadata to DataHub GMS', {'message': '401 Client Error: Unauthorized for url: <http://localhost:9002/openapi/aspects?action=ingestProposal'}>)

About config -> The
server_url
in GE checkpoint config needs correction. If you are using quickstart, you can use:
server_url: localhost:8080
About gms stopping itself. Is there any other process attached to port 8080 ? what do gms container logs say ?
l
I changed the server url to localhost:8080 but I got this error now:
Datasource mssql_datasource is not present in platform_instance_map
('Unable to emit metadata to DataHub GMS', {'message': "HTTPConnectionPool(host='localhost', port=8080): Max retries exceeded with url: /aspects?action=ingestProposal (Caused by NewConnectionError('<urllib3.connection.HTTPConnection object at 0x12cee06d0>: Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno 61] Connection refused'))"})

your gms container does not look healthy. What does this command say ?
datahub docker check
If it is okay for you to start afresh (you'll lose already ingested data) , I would suggest that you re-run the quickstart.
datahub docker nuke
datahub docker quickstart
l
Yeah, that worked! I do have another question about setting up an “ingestion”, I’m not working with “prod” but it was set by defualt. How do I change it to “dev” or “qa”?
h
Ok so
PROD
here is `env`and env is deprecated as of now in favour of using
platform_instance
. You should use different platform instances for different environments and keep env as is. https://datahubproject.io/docs/platform-instances/
