Hi folks! Happy new year 🙂 Checking in to see if anyone knows a way in Search to pull up mlfeatures via matches against their description.

Hi @quiet-smartphone-60119, you should be able to user advanced filters in search, change the entity type to
mlfeatures
, since we do index descriptions https://datahubproject.io/docs/how/search/#advanced-queries
Ah, so would you describe this as the UI not working in the way you’d expect?
q
Hey Paul - yes, if the supposition was that description was an indexed feature for MLFeatures and MLFeature Tables and should show up in search. We've been doing a deeper dive on this to see if we can track it, and so far it does look like this is not something that is being indexed. I'll report back when I have a deeper understanding of what's up!
Hey just to report back on this - investigations with our team verified that this is not a Searchable element for MLFeatures!

Hey @quiet-smartphone-60119, thanks for following up! We’d be happy to accept a contribution here- here’s docs for the annotation to make the field searchable: https://datahubproject.io/docs/metadata-modeling/extending-the-metadata-model/#searchable. We want to consider the performance impact on elasticsearch, so it’s likely best to use
TEXT
, rather than
TEXT_PARTIAL
for optimization’s sake.
