Hi all, I have ingested an Oracle DB and added a database alias to the recipe. Is there a way to query on the alias in graphql?

Hi - using GraphQL you can currently search datasets and look them up by Urn.  But we've wanted to add a "list all with filtering" endpoint. Would this be of use? What are you thinking?

I was acutally able to query by alias here is the example:

The reason I need to do this is I would like to query by database alias so that I can get all of th schemas and tables that belong to it. I have an application that then makes a call to the database to get the actual data.

I take that back it doesn't seem to return all of the results I was expecting.

In the meantime is there a work around I can do? Im thinking possibly tagging on ingestion and querying on a tag?

Yeah thats a great option for the short term... But list all datasets would definitely be preferable... would it still be useful  if we gave a listDatasets endpoint that didn't have server-side filtering initially? So the client would have to filter on their side. I'm pretty sure we could get that out quite quickly.. The filtering API might take a bit longer (but still doable)

+1 for simple listDataset graph API, I'll be looking forward to it as it suits my team's use case.

<@U01GCJKA8P9> When you say list all datasets do you mean all datasets in Datahub? That can be done with putting an "*" in the query. I would like to get all datasets based on preferably database alias if possible. Or if you can also return that value in the query I would not mind sorting on that value on my end in the short term. Also if you'd like to talk in detail about our use case I'm happy to join a call.
