So I have been in this situation for a long time, and I think this is the best place to seek advice. I wanted to keep a balance between my freelance career and my agency, and I couldn't do it. I have focussed mostly on my agency in the last few years, and because of that, I haven't really taken on many freelance projects that are good enough to show to a new client. I have done the kind of projects that were fun but they were different from the kind of projects I want to work on—like creating a content strategy for a friend's business or writing ad scripts. But here's the problem: if I want to take on a blog writing or copywriting project now, I don't really have any recent articles to show. What would be your advice here? Shall I publish a few articles on medium or another platform to refresh my portfolio or try approaching clients with my older samples (which are from a few years ago)? Or there's another way to go about it. It's a long post, I think, so thank you for reading. I would really appreciate any piece of advice. Especially if you have been in a similar situation. DMs are welcome too!

Yes guest post or publish on medium in the niche you’re after — ideally guest posts so you can have some credible bylines.

@purple-monitor-35762 I was thinking of that too. Also, I have my agency's blog too. But I think publishing an article on a high DA website would look better on the CV?

Yeah high DA or just industry relevant would work, but your agency's blog might be an easy starting point

You're right. I'll shoot a few emails for guest blogs in the beginning. If it doesn't work out, my own blog it is. I'll have more creative freedom there too
