Hello Everyone, I'm trying to become a content strategist from a content writer. However, I'm unsure where to begin and what becoming a "content strategist" entails. Can you please help me get started?

a content strategist is someone who can create short-term and long-term strategy roadmaps, provide leadership and direction, audit existing content, deliver engaging content across the whole buying journey. I would start with looking at job descriptions for Content Strategists, identifying which skills you might be missing and going from there. Good luck 🙂

As far as skill prioritization goes, I made this map to help my own career journey. For a strategist role, John's above comment is spot on. Plus, I'd focus much more on the process-building and optimization side of things. So, think templates, calendars, inventory and audit excel sheets, optimization checklists. If you can create + work with those, that will help.

Hey @ambitious-jordan-86431 you should also read Good Strategy Bad Strategy by Richard Rumelt. He does a solid job of explaining the fundamentals of strategy.
