Not a question beyond do other content people get tapped to do this 🙂 I’ve written a ton of them since I started in PR but I think my company would very much like these to come from us and I’m not so sure they should

I only got tapped to do it because I had previous experience in the industry. others i've talked to seem to hire agencies or pr consultants to do the work

Content writers that I have worked with, do not like writing press releases at all or to work with PR folks for that matter!

Haha. I’m a content person at a PR agency so I have no choice there. But I find the 2 functions lift each other — and clients — up. That said, i don’t love writing press release.

HAHA I do it sometimes, but I prefer not to 😂 It’s not tedious or anything, I just feel like it doesn’t tap into creative juices as much 😂

At HQ ours are written by the PR team, but our regional content specialists support on PR, including writing press releases

I started out in a PR-adjacent role so that could be why it's landed on me before, but I have worked in a place where PR fell to content marketing after the dedicated PR team was, ahem, "rightsized."
