Hi there, I'm trying to find in the code of Coder how do you proceed to "stop" a workspace as Terraform does not have to my knowledge any way of doing so. Any pointer for me ?

Terraform itself doesn't initiate a stop, Coder does. When a stop occurs, another `terraform apply` is essentially ran against the workspace.

To make certain resources change/delete on stop, you can use `data.coder_workspace.dev.transition` or `data.coder_workspace.dev.start_count` https://registry.terraform.io/providers/coder/coder/latest/docs/data-sources/workspace#transition

For example, our Kubernetes template will delete the pod by setting `count = data.coder_workspace.dev.start_count` (`count = 0`) when a stop occurs: https://github.com/coder/coder/blob/main/examples/templates/kubernetes/main.tf#L142

Hi . Issues with connecting via ssh into the k8s workspace.. Do I need to open up more ports for this to happen, or does the cli/vsc remote establish a connection via https in some way?

Hmm, you should just need an HTTP(s) port exposed! Are you using a load balancer?

I'm actually fixing this right now! Right now, connections may fail with an Ingress if the `Upgrade: derp` header is not passed through.

yes the user can input variables when creating a workspace

you can use the coder_parameter directive

ie I added a disk and want them to be able to choose the size

have you defined parameters for that yet?

you need to use coder_parameter, using variables is deprecated.
with coder_parameter, click on the arrow next to start/stop

so you'll need to make a new template basically

so that your users migrate without expecting to keep their stuff

I think I can finagle the terraform to not have to migrate.  I have a beta template that I test with before pushing to the main one so ill test there

yes, my most up-to-date template is https://github.com/uwu/basic-env, but it's not so up to date

i plan on updating it soon to use rich parameters and newer provider versions
