I'm at this Job for a week now, so not a lot to tell so far. Haven't worked with them before. But also heard stories about locked accounts and such.

But I think as a company we use Hetzner since 2006 or so? And my boss is happy, so can't be too bad

Btw., are there any rough number/experiences about what kind of ressources, especially RAM, you can recommend? I just noticed that the 8GB of my Test Machine is about enough for a single phpstorm session, the second won't start due to lack of available RAM. Jetbrains seems very strict about RAM...

As in ressources per Dev/Project/Whatever. I'll have to see how it scales later anyways, but it's good to have something to start on 🙂

not really, I'd say 6GB per workspace should be enough but I don't use any JB products and those tend to be hungry on ram, you should note that I use Coder in a personal environment and only for myself, on a dedicated server with 2 CPUs (6 cores each) and 24GB of RAM

Looking at my lab, that doesn't sound too crazy 😄 But 6GB/Workspace sounds like a start and I can take it from there.

you can provision a docker container, a gcp/aws instance

basically anything that has a terraform provider

it all depends on what you want each coder container to run on

So our organization have around 25 developers. We need an online infra where we can do our development and is hosted our organization domain (this is a strict requirement). Thus we decided to self host coder
