Hi all! Any chance someone could help me out with hosting 2 test assets on Cloudflare stream? I'm trying to build out a nice benchmark of all the most popular video platforms on the web https://dev.playerx.io/demo/cloudflare/ https://dev.playerx.io/compare/ I found some public Cloudflare videos but ideally they should be the same across platforms for the best comparison. I added a GH issue with all the details here https://github.com/playerxo/playerx/issues/31

It looks like you got them hosted? If not, I can do it for you.

Oh, actually I saw the random ones you put there and not the ones you really want.

Based on my guesstimates, that would cost me about $3 per month to host and stream those. I'm happy to do it for now. It'd be great if the Cloudflare team setup some official hosting for them. I'll update the issue with the links.

😢 It's a bit sad to see the low score cloudflare gets for those!

Anyone at Cloudflare able to look at these results between all the various streaming services? https://dev.playerx.io/compare/ Sure would be great if Cloudflare scored better. Also, I'm hosting the videos via Images right now. However, it would be great if Cloudflare hosted them formally. See:

Looks like the "Player Startup" is broken for me, at least.

@luwes - would be great if you could investigate this and update our scores here - we’re surprised to see the scoring here as it stands.

@User I'll do some more investigating, I was surprised by the low score as well. on my end desktop playback is performing quite well however the benchmark is using Browserstack and Saucelabs to run with mobile/desktop and bandwidth throttling in some cases. last time I checked Cloudflare stream seemed to choose a too high rendition for low bandwidth conditions making the smoothness score go down

this smoothness score of 71 is the major contributor to the low overall score, the startup score is pretty good actually. also on the demo page, I've noticed sometimes the counter keeps going but it's just a front-end UI bug I think. The metrics are collected by MUX data under the hood

Bit confused about Simulcasting with Stream... so I use the RTMPS url to upload, but does the video automatically get stored? If my main priority is to simulcast a stream to YT, FB, etc. what exactly do I pay for while doing that? Streaming minutes, storage minutes? Just saw the FAQ; sorry!

Follow-up that's not in the FAQ; do different multicast destinations count for different minutes of streaming? i.e. would 1000 min of YT & FB would count for 2000 minutes when paying?

hi @User, are rmtp(s) pulls supported with cloudflare stream? within the docs i can only find a reference to simulcast or hls/dash if live recording and playback is used

We don't support RTMP pulls today; @User (who leads product for Stream) is looking at this with the team but we don't have a concrete date yet. What's the use-case - e.g. what kind of clients / why RTMP pull?

video sports conference: voice over/moderation context where the source livestream for sports events is directly streamed to us, than pulled by the moderators (pushing would require excessive network/firewall configs) and re-streamed to us. The clients can be basically everything which is able to receive an rmtp input signal (several mobile apps, livestream studio, vmix, obs, etc )
