When will you offer higher resolutions @ 60 fps?

Do you have a specific use-case around this? Bitrate also plays into this - “good” 4K needs > 12Mbps to be reasonable at all. 4K is on the roadmap but it’s not a free lunch 😉

We aim for overall visual quality and not just raw resolution.

Are there any plans (at all) for an "audio only equivalent to Stream"? As in, Stream is RTMP compliant and can be seen as a "replacement for Twitch and/or YouTube, depending on use case" Is there any (at all) plans to do similar with audio only, as in Icecast and Shoutcast "replacement"? Audio streaming is still very much the wild west

Is this just a general curiosity or do you have a specific need? I think we see Shoutcast and similar as pretty niche these days, and you might be one of the first to ask.

I think there’s less we can do for audio - multiple encodings are rare for spoken voice, bitrates and ABR are less relevant, and many platforms just serve MP4s and do Range GETs over them from cache.

Specific need for live radio streams. Have had audio servers suffer DDoS attacks pretty frequently for well over a decade. I know shoutcast can be run from behind CF by simply using DNS and turning the Orange cloud ON, problem is it's against the ToS. But I'm sure CF could mitigate any issues that mean it currently is against the ToS by making it a paid extra or creating an MP3 streaming solution in a similar vein to Stream, but with Audio. Beyond my use case (live radio) there is also the large market of podcasters who would be able to live stream their cast and then have the audio available on CF (much like Stream does with video but with audio instead)

I feel the short cache time (4 hours) on Cloudflare Images is making the product needlessly more expensive than it needs to be for my micro business. Millions of requests are being served which could be cached for weeks. Thinking about using a worker to cache for longer and reduce the number of requests to Cloudflare Images, any reason this wouldn't work (or would it breach T&Cs)? Has anyone tried it?

100% agreed. the solution for now is absolutely to use a worker.

this is useful for other things as well, like adding proper CORS headers so that images can be used on eg. a canvas

Stream is a paid product. Once you add it to your subscriptions, you'll get access to the dashboard.

I believe their point is that in order to get access to Stream Live you need to sign up for Stream which requires paying $5/mo upfront for 1,000 minutes of storage that go unused

The onboarding flow doesn't mention any fee required to use, it just requires you to "buy" 1,000 minutes which could be seen as confusing if you just wanted Stream Live and needed 0 minutes
