I just created a bucket and I am uploading files using the drag and drop feature of the dashboard. My application will just use the R2 bucket to download assets in a multiplayer game

Are you unable to upload another file with the same name to replace the one you’ve already uploaded?

The problem is that sometimes some files in a folder just do not get uploaded even the dashboard says upload complete

That’s… super weird and sounds like a bug. How do you know they don’t get uploaded? Do you see anything funky in the DevTools Console/Network tabs?

I've got a bucket I can't remove. There's no content, trying to delete throws an error and opening the bucket throws an error saying it doesn't exist. Was going to create a support case, but the UI says ask in discord. The bucket name is
    indexdoesntwork
. Was just proving a point to a buddy and now it's decided to stick around and remind me forever.

I just got told by wasabi that their s3 buckets aren’t supposed to be used for something like a file host. They claim that it’s meant for backing up files or archiving files. They said if I didn’t keep my egress usage down they would terminate my account. Despite me, and many other people using wasabi for the same thing for months Is cloudflare’s R2 the same? Or am I perfectly fine with using R2 for a ShareX file host.

    That’s a perfectly fine use-case for R2

Yeah wasabi tos is you have to have at most like 2x bandwidth of files stored or something like that

I’ve been using wasabi for months with no issues but now that I make a ticket complaining about their very clearly degraded service over the past 2 weeks they threatened me with termination 😂 they claim the issue is on my end when it very clearly wasn’t and it was their entire US East location being slow for weeks on end

But yeah I’m currently moving all my files over to r2. It’s over 2 times faster than wasabi anyways so it’s basically just an upgrade

A File to wasabi took around 500-800ms to upload, sometimes even 3000-4000ms since their service is unstable. That same file uploaded to r2 consistently at 100-200ms

It WAS good previously but idk what happened. It’s going downhill recently and any accounts made after like march something of this year can’t even make files public anymore

Wasabi has a lot of dumb things in their terms. For one, the 1:1 egress vs storage is basically idiotic. Does anyone have a use case for storing but never transferring? I guess maybe for backups or something? But another thing that I’ve always thought is dumb is they have a 90 day minimum storage duration. Meaning if you upload 1GB, and delete it the same day you get charged for 1GB of storage for 90 days.
