Are billing notifications based on daily accesses? Wanting to use R2 but only the free tier. As I can't provide a hard limit afaics I want to have notifications at least for the first billed operation. The configuration modal only says "Notify when total number of Storage Class A Operations exceeds" but is this daily, monthly, ..?

Depends on the peak rps but not sure what the limit is but you should use a custom domain not the R2.dev

I wish cloudflare implements something like Amazon S3 got. for example object can be accessed publicly with their sub domain https://samplebucket.server-location.amazonaws.com/file.ext so no need to map custom domains for simple purposes.

Caching (aka putting R2 behind a custom domain) also gives you analytics, rules (redirects/rewrites), etc - all the other powerful parts of Cloudflare.

Just works. If/when the cache expires we will still refetch/revalidate from your bucket, to be clear.

You may need to configure Cache Rules in your settings to make sure the file types you want cached are eligible, and set the duration, etc
