I did https://github.com/cloudflare/cloudflare-docs/pull/4262 to fix an actual issue, but not sure about anything else yet

What confused me was that James's did a PR on this, and didn't change much the code

I didn't want to vastly change the code in the getting started example, so just fixed the actual problem 🤷‍♀️

I figured a more in-depth tutorial and things would come as it leaves beta

Agreed, the docs are very lacking right now. I imagine that will improve a lot as the product matures

Maybe we should PR a working get started. Many will with a wall if not changed.

how long does it generally take to get accepted for the private beta?

I'm not aware of any non-enterprise people to get admitted through the sign-up form, the way most of us individuals got access was when they announced a 1-hour timeslot where people could sign up.

If all goes well, the runtime release starting at noon PDT should have a few useful fixes: * Meaningful error messages are now propagated. Unfortunately, the R2Error type had to be dropped because the runtime doesn't have the right plumbing to throw it. I hope to resurrect it in the future (i.e. to have a

.code

and everything). * Get/head now returns null if the key doesn't exist. Delete does not throw any error if the key doesn't exist.

it says “there are no charges for egress bandwidth”

in the initial launch blog post, it said that cloudflare would charge for egress requests if they are not in the “single digits per second”
