? Through a whois I can confirm that IPv4 range 104.18.9.90 belongs to Cloudflare, Inc. (CLOUD14) from 104.16 to 104.31 is all CF..

What if you inspect further your network interface with

tcpdump

or

wireshark

or

tshark

? So that you can see a bit more details on what happens om network level...

@DanCodes this is only a single DNS packet, sent to 1.1.1.1 without responses.. or your box seems offline or you're misusing

as it should show at least dns responses and attempt to connect with Cloudflare IP..

If you have access to the router, try rebooting it

@DanCodes maybe contact your VPS support and ask what happens.. as it looks like a local problem, not a general issue affecting many users.. (at least nobody has manifested here yet)

Yeah. Weird things happens sometimes. No prob. Fail2ban is amazing and definitely not supposed to do that as it evaluates(or should) incoming requests.. not outgoing.. Make sure you spot which fail2ban
