What about local laws where users in a specific state need their data in that state

For example California Healthcare regulations might require the data to not leave California

Oh, yeah. US regulations differ by state... we are not used to that in the EU. Mostly not even countries differ.

Guys, is there any way to use a Worker with a domain that uses another DNS provider? For example, my client owns the xyz.com domain, managed by AWS Route 53, is there any way he can create a subdomain that points (like a CNAME) to a DNS record associated with a Worker (registered on my Cloudflare site)?

you could theoretically point a CNAME from amazon to your workers.dev domain

I think some of Cloudflare's security features might prevent you from pointing it to a custom domain (but I'm not 100% sure on that)

did a CNAME to the workers.dev domain work?

if you have Business or Enterprise you can setup their domain on your account without changing the nameservers

yeah totes, would be cheaper for them to move their DNS to Cloudflare. 😛

Why would you want to pay extra to host your DNS elsewhere? What is a practical use case on why Cloudflare NS doesn't work for your usecase?

Sorry i think i explained it wrong. i am using cloudflare NS and i have multiple cf workers and I want to allow my customers to set a dns record on their side to my worker (this is just possible with enterprise plan as far as i know)

I am developing a system for a large company, they want to use a subdomain of their main domain. They will not give me access to DNS management, in this case, CNAME would be my best option, but it is very expensive. We will have to choose between using an iframe or redirecting the user to another domain.
