But...WHY???? This HURTS the mathematician/statistician in me. What's the point of a a pie chart if you can't see the entirety of each slice??

to its credit, the numbers do all add up to 100%. though the style of the infographic made me think they would not.

maybe it's more 3 dimensional than you think, and the Z axis makes the 3d shapes into accurate representations of those % that 1.0 is just very, very thin

I laughed when I read the linked article where it says, in describing the chart, โ€œโ€ฆ which was later determined to be a stock photo of a pie chart where theyโ€™d just changed the numbersโ€.
