I work on an application that has gone from ACF => Railo => Lucee in its lifetime. I'm working on converting old
lucee-web.xml.cfm
templates to
cfconfig.json
and I'm doing some cleanup in the process, like removing any settings that are equivalent to defaults, so I'm just saving down additions or changes to defaults. In my old XML config file I've got this RAM cache setup and I no longer know why it's there. I may be wrong but I vaguely remember dealing explicitly with a RAM filesystem or something. Anybody got any insight into this cache type?
Does this have to do with the
ram://
filesystem?
If so, maybe the absence of references to
ram://
in my code base means that this cache is now obsolete in my application?

No, it's not related to the file system
It's an in-memory cache Lucee uses for stuff like query caching or the cacheget() and cachePut() BIFs
I don't think you need to explicitly configure it though.
