As alternative to cfdocument I was using wkhtmltopdf with cfexecute to convert html to pdf. Unfortunately this project seems to be dead, the latest release is from 2020. Does anyone know an alternative which can be used with Lucee? Thanks a lot

wkhtmltopdf 'just works' (we have a little forgebox package that integrates it with coldbox if you have a docker container running it) but you're right that it's dead. I spent some time on weasyprint when looking for a successor, could give that a try

We just went through this search and landed on https://gotenberg.dev/. We've loved it so far. It is dead simple to use if you already live in Docker land.

that looks way easier to use than weasyprint, though weasyprint wasn't bad
good find

It was shockingly easy. I was surprised I hadn't heard anything about it before. Still waiting to find the catch, but haven't yet. 😀

love it

Thanks a lot, will try it

Something like this that supported pdf forms would be great.

Hey @danmurphy thanks for sharing Gotenberg... built with Go. Ironically it coincides with my desire to replace CFML with Go. Gotenberg is a perfect example of progressing to distributed services... in this case a docker container. I recently asked the CFML community about their thoughts of serverless which went absolutely nowhere LOL! Long live the monolith apparently. No complaints about those who build CFML monoliths, they are workhorses that have lasted for years. However, IMHO, I'm more interested in breaking the monolith into stateless, manageable services.
