found a way to run the websockets why i am getting Failed to bind to sub.domain.com/3.97.51.193:3001 any idea/
q
You got to give more information than that... Failed to bind still means that it can't connect to the server....
g
i changed it to 127.0.0.1 and it connected but now it says its denied by the server
q
Again.... lots of information missing... How is your websocket setup? Are you routing through the Tomcat servelet, or are you using a dedicated socket server? If a dedicated socket, do you have it enabled in the firewall? How are you calling the code? What are you using to define your web socket instances?
g
no i am now using socket.io
using this
i changedthe IP from which it is served in index.cfm file and serverio.cfc file but still i get the bind error
q
Again... you are going to have to give a LOT more detail. Can you post your code on github or something? There is some installation that is required for socket.io to work, including mapping of directories and loading of Java classes....
Bind Error is a generic error that pretty much says that the server rejected the connection. That can mean that the JSR applet isn't running, or again, firewall or something else is blocking it.
g
Ok I can zip it and send you but the code is pretty much same what I have shared on the link above just extracted and started to run If I run locally it works without https but the time I upload to my server I get those bind issues If I replace the up with 127.0.0.1 I see in console the errors in chrome err by client
I can share what I have in my server xml or conf files if that help
I am stuck on this problem since a week and even went with socket.io instead of websockets but lucee sucks

I had a look in Jira (something you probs ought to have done, @gsr), and I would say... yer pushing shit up hill here https://luceeserver.atlassian.net/browse/LDEV-3815 Also it might be good if you ask yer Q only in one place, so other ppl don't waste their time answering / replying when something might have been covered on one of the other places you've asked. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/78209528/trying-to-understand-the-web-sockets-by-lucee-here https://dev.lucee.org/t/trying-to-understand-the-websockets-by-lucee-here/13625/3
