This might be a long shot, but does anyone have any experience moving from CF8 with an access DB to CF2016? - Any resources for someone looking to get this done?

If you are making that jump you might consider an extra hop over to a supported version of CF (2021 or 2023). CF2016 reached end of life in 2021, and end of support in 2022 - so that means there are no more security patches or fixes for CF2016. Here’s some more info more related to your question on access, which also really would be good to consider migrating away from: https://community.adobe.com/t5/coldfusion-discussions/coldfusion-2021-and-access-database/m-p/11735544 - generally it is going to be hard to find any current info on CF / Access because all but a few have migrated off of it by now.

Hi @ayjay you can move the database to SQL, first I would suggest (as its the easiest way possible) to move the access database to an MsSQL server. You can download Microsofts Trial, Express edition to migrate do just that : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/sql-server/migrate/guides/access-to-sql-server?view=sql-server-ver16 Next, if you need to move the database to Mysql / MariaDB you can use the Mysql Workbench: https://www.mysql.com/products/workbench/ or you can just use a third party tool like : https://razorsql.com/features.html to just move your database to another format.

Definitely recommend moving the database first as well.
