Hardest part of Web Sockets is to route them through your proxy web server correctly. I'd recommend having it talk right to your local Tomcat/Lucee server rather than through IIS/Apache/Nginx to start. You should be generating http_access logs and/or logs in the ws.log to start to troubleshot.
