I have a question about CFBuilder for VSCode. Every time we close VSCode and restart it, the ColdFusion project under the Project Manager disappears and we have to pull it in again. The server setup doesn’t do that nor does the RDS view. Likewise, the project shows up on the workspace within VSCode. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this?

Justin, can you email cfsup@adobe.com about this and cc me? I had this exact issue when I first started using VSCCF and there was a thing I was setting wrong, but that was more than a week ago so the information has flitted happily right out of my brain 😄

ok, thank you @Mark Takata (Adobe) as always!!

@justincook - if it's not a proprietary secret, can you please share your solution here? I've had this experience all along and - yes - it is quite the nuisance.

No problem Justin, sorry you're having this experience. I'll be happy to have it shoved back into my "bag of cats" brain too 😄

you bet!

One possible fix is going navigating to VSCode settings and then search for windows:restore and ensure the parameter value is set to “all”.
That hasn’t worked for me yet, but that’s one possible solution.

@justincook - thanks, didn't work for me either. Tried opening a workspace I had saved under cf2021\cfusion\wwwroot\test as well as one I had saved under a folder I created under c:\inetpub\ . Tried multiple opening methods too: in windows explorer I tried r-click, open the _.code-workspace file with code -> nothing in project manager; tried opening VS code, then file->open workspace from file... -> nothing in project manager. Should be easy, shouldn't it?

Adobe support wanted to setup a meeting with me about it. But I won’t be available to meet until next week, so maybe we’ll figure it out. But yeah it should be simple, I agree.

I've been banging my head like this all along (just thought it was just how it worked), so just status quo for now. I wish you luck. fingers crossed

I have coworkers who are having the exact same issue. So once I get it figured out I can help them. So you’re not alone.

Couple of months ago @Mark Takata (Adobe) floated the idea of doing a video about CFB in VSC but still waiting on that to evolve:

Mark Takata [12:26 PM] I think the trick is that you DO need to have a project set up and be in the project. Wondering if we need to do another "How to use the builder plugin" talk? Maybe I'll do one in September for the CF webinar...
